I have designed another retro record cabinet inspired by popular mid century interiors. The glossy platinum grey carcass colour highlights the deep mustard door design perfectly and looks wonderful with natural dark oak wood tones.
The cabinet is made from 18mm MDF board and features;
*Solid 27mm Oak top and skirt
*Heavy Duty recessed cabinet hinges
*Solid Beech Wood tapered legs
*UK made metal leg anchor plates
*Solid metal satin nickel knobs
The MDF carcass is jointed, screw and glued for strength. It is painted with 4 coats of Platinum Grey emulsion on bottom and sides, flat sanded between each coat, then a coat of low VOC eco-varnish is applied. The paint finish is cut and polished to give a beautiful satin finish. It has a Eucalyptus ply back.
Solid Oak 27mm top and skirt which is protected with 5 coats of natural Danish oil, 2 hours drying between each, then polished to enhance its natural beauty. Stave width varies.
The doors have a retro metallic honeycomb design on a textured mustard background.
This is created using a printed vinyl covering which is a limited edition from a Danish designer.
Finished with Nickel oval knobs, these stunning features set this cabinet apart from anything found on the high street.
Another quality feature is the solid Beech tapered legs, which have been made in the UK to the original 1950s Dansette design. These are also treated with danish oil, come packed separately inside and simply screw onto the ready mounted plates underneath.
So, there will not be custom sizes available in this design now as i have made up the doors ready already. All units measure 41cm deep and you can select colour and the leg size (to alter its overall height). The dimensions (carcass only)of the units available are :
74cm wide x 44cm high
83cm wide x 39cm high
120cm wide x 38cm high
120cm wide x 43cm high
For Internal dimensions , deduct 4cm from the width and 7cm from height. Add the leg length to the carcass height for the overall height.
RECYCLED CONTENT- This cabinet uses oak boards made from reclaimed offcuts (staves) and my offcuts of these are used for the bottom skirt. MDF board contains recycled timber sawdust compressed with wax or resin.
DELIVERY- prices are based on the 120cm cabinet weight of 45kg, calculated using its Volumetric weight (cubic dimensions). There maybe a discount code for smaller sizes but contact me first.
EU CHARGES AND DELAYS- New EU customs arrangements were effective since January 2021. Please check your own government website for custom import duties to be paid.

Custom and personalised orders
I am always receiving requests for customised work so I do welcome a challenge 😀 If you would like something made to your specs then just ask, i would love to see your idea.
Commonly people ask for shelves, bookcases or cabinets to be a little larger, in a special colour, unpainted or with different accessories.
Custom orders usually take a little longer to make and cost a little extra so please ask for a quote.
Sizing details
Sizes are quoted in metric, usually cm.
Where sizes are referred to as small, medium and large it would be the medium or regular size that is most popular or commonly purchased.
Sometimes we have to limit the size of larger items to 115cm in length due to the cost of delivery, especially when it is to be sent outside the UK. If you would like an item made larger than this we would have to confirm the delivery cost for you.
Allow a slight variation in sizes of recycled timber crafts due to the nature and availability of wood used.
The shipping price seems a little high, why is that?
Cost of delivery is calculated on the parcels volumetric weight, which is its measurements multiplied together divided by 5000. Large parcels will then have a much higher cost compared to smaller ones.
Also, the price includes the cost of the high quality recycled packaging that I use to avoid damaged items.
We can offer discounts for shipping when you buy more than one item as often the volume can be condensed by packing then together.

This is a fantastic cabinet! It’s solid and really well-made. We requested some custom dimensions/interior shelving and Steve was really helpful and accommodating throughout the ordering process. We were expecting 2-3 weeks for delivery but it arrived after just one! He kept us updated at every stage and even sent us a sneak picture when it was ready. Couldn’t recommend him more!
