Superb! We love these repurposed lamps in our shop; bright, colourful, new trendy colours and a real talking point! Just added copper, which is stunning!
These metal lamp shades are upcycled from everyday kitchen colanders bought from stores or charity shops. Each one can be slightly different, most have handles, and the holes may have different patterns on too! The picture shows the variety of ones i have made since 2015 so you can see the patterns and design might vary.
I clean and prepare the surface of each one; then primed, painted and lacquered on the outside, and polished on the inside to remove scratches and marks.
These are the approximate measurements not including the handles:
Shallow 26cm diameter is about 10cm deep
Deep 30cm diameter is about 14cm deep
Extra Deep 36cm diameter is about 17cm deep.
Sizes can vary a little so please contact me for exact sizes.
The Deeper options allow for a nice oversized Globe lamp (pictured) but the Shallow option looks best with a long slim Edison bulb(available as an extra on request)
A 1.25"(28mm) hole has been drilled in the top to accommodate a standard bulb holder(not supplied) as shown in pic 4. The hole is ground and smoothed so there are no sharp edges, but the metal here is thin enough to cut if you rub your finger hard enough!
NOTE Please let me know if you have the larger fitting, so that it will fit!
Many times have we seen similar things in kitchen shops, purposefully made, and very expensive, but this is the authentic upcycled item. Great value for money and I love to carry on upcycling household objects into original home decorations as long as you love to buy them!

Custom and personalised orders
I am always receiving requests for customised work so I do welcome a challenge 😀 If you would like something made to your specs then just ask, i would love to see your idea.
Commonly people ask for shelves, bookcases or cabinets to be a little larger, in a special colour, unpainted or with different accessories.
Custom orders usually take a little longer to make and cost a little extra so please ask for a quote.
Sizing details
Sizes are quoted in metric, usually cm.
Where sizes are referred to as small, medium and large it would be the medium or regular size that is most popular or commonly purchased.
Sometimes we have to limit the size of larger items to 115cm in length due to the cost of delivery, especially when it is to be sent outside the UK. If you would like an item made larger than this we would have to confirm the delivery cost for you.
Allow a slight variation in sizes of recycled timber crafts due to the nature and availability of wood used.
The shipping price seems a little high, why is that?
Cost of delivery is calculated on the parcels volumetric weight, which is its measurements multiplied together divided by 5000. Large parcels will then have a much higher cost compared to smaller ones.
Also, the price includes the cost of the high quality recycled packaging that I use to avoid damaged items.
We can offer discounts for shipping when you buy more than one item as often the volume can be condensed by packing then together.
